SUMPTUOUS SAGE IN BLOOM - 27 October 2012

It is a glorious day here in Wellington and I’m desperate to get out in the garden but I have some major deadlines to work to this afternoon….so I just had a quick break and discovered my sage in full bloom.  I knew it would flower any day now…
I love seeing the sage in flower as the bees just love it!  And it is such a vibrant purple!  I planted this sage two years ago from seed and it is just thriving.  We use it a lot with pork and also to create sage butter to have with pumpkin, sundried tomato and ricotta ravioli.  YUM!
The sage really seems to be the only thing that is enjoying the dry soil.  I am going to have to water the garden tonight again as we haven’t had any rain for a week and the wind is drying everything out.  Actually, the curled parsley next to the sage is doing well too.  This is a plant I started from seed last year, so I expect it will go to seed this year being a biennial.
Right – I really have to get back to work and stop day-dreaming about gardening!!!
