FIRST BROADBEANS MAKE AN APPEARANCE - 18 October 2012

I am so happy to see my first broadbeans making their appearance today.  It has really cheered me up as I’m having an extremely stressful day.  Working from home has it’s benefits as when I need to de-stress, I just pop out to my garden and have a little wander around to see what it happening.

When I worked for other companies in the past, I couldn’t wait to get home and spend some time out in the garden to forget about the day that had been.  Gardening is such fantastic therapy!
Well hopefully I’ll see more and more broadbeans growing soon! I think broadbeans have to be one of the easiest veges to grow – all you need to worry about really is making sure they have some string around them to stop them from falling over in the wind.  They don’t really get a lot of pests either and aren’t terribly fussy about their soil.  I just hope we don’t get rust on them like we did last year…
