COMPANION PLANTING FOR TOMATOES - 19 November 2012

Such a gorgeous day here in Wellington and a great day to get out in the garden!  I’ve planted out some marigolds and basil with mytomatoes.  Both are to help ward off pests and of course basil and tomato are just lovely to eat together!
I’m pretty delighted with how quickly these seeds have grown!  I’ve just had them on my window sill in my home-made propagators and they’re ready for planting out after just over a month.
I’ve planted out marigolds with my tomatoesbefore, but it’s the first time I’ve planted out basil with the tomatoes.  Normally, I just grow basil in the herb garden, but I thought I’d try out the basil/tomato combination this year too.  Will be interesting to see how it goes!
