One guess what we’re having for dinner tonight: broadbeans! (…or snow peas…as a matter of fact!) We have vast quantities ready of both broadbeans and snow peas to gobble up tonight! Despite the poor broadbeans growing all over the place thanks to the wind, they have managed to produce phenomenal quantities of lovely pods. (I have tied string around them, but the wind has been particularly strong and made the plants grow all over the show!)
I’ve never liked broadbeans until I started growing them myself. Last year I found a great falafel recipe using broadbeans, so I think that’s what we might have tonight. A nice and healthy option! I’m a little bit tired of snow peas so might give some more away to some friends who are mad about them!
I’m so delighted with how the garden is going at the moment and the lavender borders look so pretty at the moment – brimming with lots of bees as they burst in to colour. I really think it was a great move planting them around the garden to bring in the bees as it is really assisting with pollenation of lots of different vegies.
And now the countdown to summer begins…only three more days until summer and despite farewelling all our lovely spring crops, I am getting excited about the on-set of all the delights that summer brings to the garden!
