Nom! Today I harvested two lovely Cos lettuces, rocket and a big fat raddish for a salad. I also got a whole lot of curled parsley to use in an egg salad…what a delicious meal it made! These have grown incredibly fast as I only planted them out about three or four weeks ago. Must be all this warmth (the soil in my raised beds is extremely warm), excellent weekly liquid feeds and the great compost that I’ve been using!
I don’t think I’ve ever tasted lettuce like this before – the flavour was so intense and the leaves were incredibly crisp. I highly recommend growning Yates Lettuce – Cos if you haven’t tried growing it before. Absolutely delicious! (And it is also really great for using in Vietnamese Summer Rolls as the leaf keeps it’s shape really well and gives the rolls structure).
