I’ve been putting the final touches on my Cucurbitaceae garden over my lunch break and it’s looking like it is now ready to go with lots of rich compost consisting of some pony poo, lots of leaf mould and vege scraps.
I’ve been learning about the plant family names so I’m trying to use the latin names. It is really interesting learning about the plant families as it helps to know what soil and conditions each plant family needs.
Slug bait station of beer is sitting there ready and in a couple of weeks I hope the pumpkin, squash, courgette and cucumber seedlings sitting in the polytunnel will be ready to plant out here. I have a lavender border which really helps attract the bees when it’s in flower. But for the moment, at least the calendulas will put on a nice display of colour until the seedlings are ready
