A friend of mine was having a big clean out in her kitchen yesterday and found all these Yates seeds stashed in with her spices and knowing how mad I am about gardening, she gave them to me. I have most of these seeds in my seed stash, but I have decided to plant these out for another friend of ours who has just obtained a little allotment garden in Wellington.
A lot of communities are starting up allotment gardens in different suburbs around Wellington and I think it is fantastic! So I am going to help our friend establish her garden by giving her lots of seedlings as I know it can be really pricey when starting from scratch. And of course time consuming! I think that’s the nice thing about gardening, being able to share your experiences and ideas with others. It’s not just produce that you get to share!
I planted out oodles of seeds today including more cucumber for myself as one plant has died and the other one looks like it’s about to die too! I have never had much luck withcucumber, so I’m going to give it another go and then I’m going to have to enlist the help of an expert! I’m really not sure what I’m doing wrong….but I’ve followed every piece of information I’ve read in my gardening books and online!
I feel as if I’m going to crash in a heap now after hours and hours of gardening today in extremely strong winds. I hope everyone else has managed to get lots done this weekend!
